About Kaashi

A short, considered index. Treated like editorial.

We started Kaashi because villa listings online were either inflated or invisible. The photos didn't match the places. The places didn't match the prices. The hosts didn't match either.

Today, Kaashi is a small team of three. We list a few dozen villas across India, almost all of them visited in person — slowly, on a weekday, with the host on call and the kitchen turned on. We photograph them ourselves. We write the page ourselves. If we wouldn't book it for a friend, it doesn't go in.

We don't take commission. Hosts list with us because we send guests who actually read. Guests use us because the page is the place.

How we vet

Three nights, one weekday.

  1. One.

We visit. Always on a weekday, never announced as press. We sleep in the bed, cook in the kitchen, walk the neighbourhood.

  2. Two.

We photograph. Natural light, real rooms, real angles. No wide-angle lies.

  3. Three.

We write. The page is shorter than most. It only includes what matters.

Stay longer.”
